Sailing Vessel:  Sea Gypsy

Model:  1981 W27 Pilot House

HULL#: WYM7P005M81G

Boat Name:

Owners:

Rick and Karen Vishnesky

Home Port:

Sailing Area:

Lake Lewisville, TX

How is boat used:

Day sailing/motoring. Overnight at dock. Napping on. A swell place just to hang out, no matter the weather

Sailing trips, experiences:

Bought Sea Gypsy in Kemah, Tx, on the Gulf, S. of Houston. Thought  we'd be moving to Corpus Christi at the time and we'd take it down the coastal from Kemah to Corpus.  Didn't happen, so had the boat brought  up to our local (good size) lake. Did motor and sail in the Gulf before however, and despite the (very) shallow water had some good times.

Currently motor around the lake, and enjoy having a "one of" and the interesting looks we get. Boat  sails fairly well, gets to hull speed, 6.5 kts., but not much of a pointer due to CDI type roller reefing.

Boat Condition:

Good over all. Sea Gypsy has   endured  any number of hurricanes, and toughed them all out. Lots of  compliments on this boat.

Upgrades by you or other owners:  New hull and deck paint ( Brightside, rolled and tipped while it was on the hard in Kemah), new -rebuilt Yanmar 20 hp-motor. New mast (original was bent during last hurricane, and tightened up to straight -  a bit of an expensive surprise). Have refridgerator, microwave, heaters for cold and portable AC for hot.

Since I only  use on the lake, equipment is minimal: hand held GPS,ship to shore radio, wind speed, depth finder. Electrical panel is a continuing project-evidently over the course of many owners and time, Sea Gypsy has had all kinds of equipment, from radar to autopilot, none of which I'd need now.

Planned projects: Repaint interior, re-do all bright work, tune rigging and reefing for best effect. Add whatever West Marine has on sale that would seem useful
